Toll Collection Begins on Dwarka Expressway: New Rates, Discounts, and Rules Announced
NEW DELHI: Toll collection has officially begun on the Dwarka Expressway, marking a new phase for commuters traveling between Delhi and Gurugram. The Bijwasan Toll Plaza, located at the Delhi–Haryana border, has started charging vehicles from Sunday onwards, with payments to be made via FASTag.
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has released the complete list of toll rates, along with discounts for regular users and strict penalties for overloaded vehicles.

The new system directly links the Bijwasan Toll Plaza with the Kherki Daula toll, meaning commuters driving between Delhi and Gurugram will have to pay at both points.
However, to ease travel, a joint arrangement between the two toll plazas has been introduced—if a vehicle crosses both tolls in the same direction within 24 hours, the commuter will only pay the difference the second time, automatically adjusted through FASTag.
Officials have also issued a warning for overloaded vehicles. Those found exceeding the legal weight limit will face a penalty of 10 times the regular toll and will only be allowed to continue once the excess load is removed.
Regular commuters have been offered several discounts and pass options. A 25% discount is available for daily travellers, while those making 50 trips in a month get around 33% off. Residents living within 20 km of the toll plaza can purchase a monthly pass for ₹340, and commercial vehicles will receive a 50% concession.
Private car, jeep, or van owners can opt for an annual pass priced at ₹3,000, covering 200 trips or one year, whichever comes first.
A key update for those heading to the Indira Gandhi International Airport — vehicles traveling via NH-48 from Delhi or Gurugram will no longer need to pay any toll, as the toll plaza near the airport has been permanently closed.

The 10-kilometre stretch of the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year, had been operational for months without toll collection. According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the introduction of toll charges will help fund road maintenance, improve traffic management, and ensure better infrastructure upkeep.
Commuters can access all toll-related details, discounts, and pass options through the Highway Yatra app or the NHAI website.
