Mumbai: Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has announced an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for workmen and officer employees in banks for the months of November, December 2025, and January 2026, under the provisions of the 11th Bipartite Settlement (BPS) and 8th Joint Note dated November 11, 2020.
According to the IBA circular (No. CIR/HR&IR/76/D/2025-26/2602) issued on November 1, 2025, the confirmed All India Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Industrial Workers (Base 1960=100) for the quarter ending September 2025 stood as follows:
- July 2025: 9630.70
- August 2025: 9670.15
- September 2025: 9683.29
The average CPI works out to 9661.38, which corresponds to 827 DA slabs (calculated as 9661.38 – 6352 = 3309.38 ÷ 4). This marks an increase of 46 slabs over the previous quarter.
As per the IBA, the revised DA rate payable to bank employees will now be 57.89% of pay for the months of November 2025 to January 2026.
“While arriving at the dearness allowance payable, decimals from the third place may please be ignored,” the circular stated.
The circular has been issued to all member banks, including those yet to implement the 12th Bipartite Settlement and 9th Joint Note signed on March 8, 2024.
