Bank Holiday on 6 October 2025: Will Banks Be Closed for Lakshmi Puja?

New Delhi: As the festive season continues, customers are in doubt whether banks will be closed across India on 6 October 2025, for the occasion of Lakshmi Puja. According to the RBI’s 2025 bank holiday calendar, Lakshmi Puja is observed as a bank holiday in some states.

So, if you’re planning to visit a bank branch on 6 October:

• Check your state’s holiday notification or RBI’s state-wise schedule to see if your state is observing holiday.
• Digital banking services like UPI, net banking, and ATMs will work as usual.
• Skip the branch visit if your state observes Lakshmi Puja.

However, it is not a nationwide holiday. Lakshmi Puja Holiday is applied to states like Odisha, Punjab, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Tripura, where Lakshmi Puja is included in the state-level banking holiday calendar.
