Bharti Airtel Secures Major Indian Railways Contract to Build AI-Driven Cybersecurity Ecosystem
New Delhi: Shares of Bharti Airtel Ltd were in focus on Monday after the company’s enterprise arm, Airtel Business, announced that it has secured a multi-year contract from the Indian Railways Security Operations Centre (IRSOC) to design and implement a total cybersecurity ecosystem for the railways.
Under this agreement, Airtel will build, operate, and maintain a multi-layered, AI-driven cybersecurity infrastructure aimed at protecting Indian Railways’ massive IT network, including its passenger data systems, ticketing portals, train tracking mechanisms, and freight operations.
The project will ensure 24×7×365 protection across 26 railway locations, covering more than 190,000 critical digital assets and benefiting over 1 billion users.
Airtel will deploy advanced security technologies such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR), User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA), and AI-based endpoint protection tools.
The system will use Make in India cybersecurity solutions to ensure a sovereign, resilient, and compliant architecture, capable of detecting threats in under 20 seconds.
