Dearness Relief for Railway Pensioners Revised to New Rate Effective July 1, 2025: RBE No. 109/2025 Issued by Railway Board

Railway Board under the Ministry of Railways has announced a revision in Dearness Relief (DR) for Railway pensioners and family pensioners, with the new rate coming into effect from July 1, 2025.

The update was released through Railway Board Order RBE No. 109/2025, dated October 17, 2025.

According to the order, the revision follows the guidelines issued by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoP&PW) under the Office Memorandum No. 42/02/2024-P&PW(D) dated October 8, 2025. The same has been extended to the Railway pensioners and family pensioners mutatis mutandis—meaning, with necessary modifications as applicable to Railways.

The revised Dearness Relief will be payable with effect from July 1, 2025, benefiting thousands of retired Railway employees and their family members across all Zonal Railways and Production Units.

The order, signed by Jaya Kumar G, Joint Director (Pay Commission & HRMS), Railway Board, mentions that the decision has been taken with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.

The Hindi version of the order has also been circulated along with the official memorandum for wider accessibility and implementation.
