Department of Posts Postpones Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for PA/SA Posts 2025 Citing Administrative Reasons
Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, has postponed the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE)/Competitive Examination (CE) for the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant (PA/SA) for the vacancy year 2025. The exam was earlier scheduled for July 20, 2025 (Sunday), now the exam is postponed due to administrative reasons.
DOP issued a letter via letter No. DE-12/1/2025-DE-DOP dated July 3, 2025, from Dak Bhawan, New Delhi regarding the subject line “Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE)/Competitive Examination (CE) for promotion/recruitment to the post of PA/SA for the vacancy year 2025 (01.01.2025 to 31.12.2025) – Postponement of Examination – regarding.”
The communication was addressed to all Heads of Circles. It is also stated in the letter that a fresh date for the examination will be announced shortly.

The Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE)/Competitive Examination (CE) for promotion/recruitment to the post of PA/SA for the vacancy year 2025 were initially notified through model notifications dated May 30, 2025, and June 9, 2025, as part of the annual ‘Calendar of Examinations’ issued earlier this year. The delay affects both internal promotion and direct recruitment under the PA/SA category for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2025.
The order has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by Ravi Pawha, Director (GDS)/LO to Director (DE). Applicants are advised to follow the official India Post website for any updates.
