DoP News: India Post to Launch 24-Hour and 48-Hour Guaranteed Delivery Services from January 2026
New Delhi: Union Communications Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia announced on Friday that India Post will soon introduce guarantee-based mail and parcel delivery services with strict 24-hour and 48-hour timelines. This will be a major step in modernizing the postal network and enhancing reliability.
According to the Department of Posts, the new 24-Hour and 48-Hour Delivery service is ready to launch from January 2026, and will include 24-hour Speed Post for delivery of mails within a day and a 48-hour Speed Post option for deliveries within two days.

“We are going to launch new products with guaranteed delivery of mails and parcels. There will be 24-hour Speed Post service which will ensure delivery of mails within 24 hours. Similarly, there will be a 48-hour Speed Post for delivery within 48 hours,” Scindia said.
The initiative is part of the government’s continued efforts to make India Post’s logistics capabilities competitive with private courier services by offering time-bound and transparent delivery commitments across the country.
