Good News for GDS Employees! DoP to provide Coaching for (SC/ST/OBC/ EWS/ Ex-Servicemen/PwDs) Reserved and Women Candidates Preparing for Departmental Exams (LDCE)
Department of Posts (DoP) has announced a new initiative to provide dedicated training and coaching to reserved category officials/GDS (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen/PwDs) and women officials/GDS, who apply for Limited Departmental Competitive Examinations (LDCES)/Competitive Examinations (CE) for various cadres in Group C and Group B with the objective to enable them to clear the LDCEs/CEs and to improve their representation in the service hierarchy.

As per the DoP order video F. No. SC- 1 3 I 1 12024-SCT-DOP-Part(2) dated July 9, 2025, the coaching will provide training to eligible Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) and departmental staff in preparing for exams related to Group C and Group B posts. This step is expected to help improve their chances of passing the promotional examination and increase their presence in the upper levels of the postal service hierarchy.
The training sessions will be designed around the syllabus prescribed by the Personnel Division and will focus on clearing doubts and improving subject understanding. Coaching will be spread over 15–20 working days (3–4 weeks) with a total of around 60 hours of classes.
As per the order, Training/coaching may be arranged, as far as possible in Postal Training Centres (PTCs), Regional Training Centres (RTCs)/Circle Offices/Region Offices/any other Convenient departmental location and should be managed without any dislocation to the work.

Participation in the coaching programme is completely voluntary for officials. If any of the candidates wants to opt out of the same, he/she may be allowed.
This order is issued under the Reservation Cell, Department of Posts, with the approval of the Competent Authority.
