Railway Board Extends Deadline for APAR for 2024-2025 Completion to 31st December 2025
Ministry of Railways has extended the timeline for completing the Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) process for the year 2024–2025. As per the Railway Board order vide File No. РС-VII/2025/HRMS/15 dated 16th July 2025, the entire APAR process is to be completed by 31st December 2025.

Despite earlier deadlines in May, though the timelines for finalization of hierarchy and submission of self-appraisal are over, it is observed that a number of APARs are still pending at these stages. In response, the competent authority has revised the schedule to ensure the process is completed smoothly.

According to the revised timeline, the finalization of hierarchy and generation of the APAR form must be done by 20th July 2025. Self-appraisals are to be submitted by 31st July, followed by evaluations from reporting and reviewing officers in August and September, respectively. The appraisal by the accepting authority should be done by 31st October.
Once the APAR is communicated to the employee by 15th November, they will have until 15th December, or 30 days from the communication date, whichever is later, to file any representations. Completing the process relating to the representation submitted by the official will be completed by 31st December 2025.

It is also clarified that any self-appraisal not submitted by the due date will be automatically forwarded to the Reporting Officer. These revised timelines are applicable to ex-cadre employees in the Railway Board as well.
Railway Board advised all Field Units may take steps to ensure that the APARs are completed within the timelines.
