Government Approves 57 New Kendriya Vidyalayas Across India Under Civil Sector
New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the establishment of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) under the Civil Sector across various states and Union Territories in India.
The new decision was announced through multiple KVS Office Orders (No. 483–497) dated October 3, 2025, issued by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Headquarters, New Delhi.

The new government schools will be spread across states including Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
This is to provide quality education for children of Central Government employees, defense personnel, and the general public in underserved regions.
As per the official order, the sponsoring authorities—such as State Governments, Union Territories, and Central Armed Police Forces—must transfer identified land parcels to KVS free of cost on a permanent or lease basis.
In addition, they also must provide rent-free suitable temporary accommodation for the schools to function until their permanent campuses are constructed. The order also specifies that KVS buildings are exempt from property tax, service tax, or other municipal charges, being Central Government properties.
The administrative sanction orders for each new Kendriya Vidyalaya will be issued after the transfer of land and possession of temporary accommodation by the sponsoring authorities. They have been instructed to complete all necessary arrangements, including ensuring electricity, potable water, and road access, by October 15, 2025.
Among the notable locations for the new schools are Bodh Gaya, Muzaffarpur, and Bhagalpur (Bihar); Palasa and Guntur (Andhra Pradesh); Raipur (Chhattisgarh); Sirohi (Rajasthan); Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu); Mulugu and Jagtial (Telangana); and Gorakhpur and Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).
The orders were signed by Prachi Pandey, Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, on behalf of the Ministry of Education.
