India News: PM Narendra Modi launches PM-SETU Scheme to empower India’s Youth with world’s skill demands

New Delhi: Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced the launch of the PM-SETU (Prime Minister’s Scheme for Empowering and Transforming the Youth), an initiative aimed at connecting India’s youth with the evolving global skill ecosystem.

Speaking at the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh in New Delhi, the Prime Minister said the PM-SETU scheme would allow the country’s Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to align their training programs with the skill requirements of both current and future industry needs.

PM-SETU will connect the youth of India with the world’s skill demands,” Hon’ble PM Modi said, adding that the scheme is designed to prepare the ITI network to meet industrial needs over the next decade.

Under PM-SETU, over 1,000 ITIs across India will be upgraded with modern machines, advanced training infrastructure, and updated curricula to match upcoming technologies and international standards.

Prime Minister also announced a series of youth-centric initiatives worth more than ₹62,000 crore, focusing on education, skilling, and entrepreneurship. He said that they are part of the government’s vision to empower India’s young workforce and strengthen the country’s position as a global hub for skilled talent.
