India Post and BSNL Join Hands to Expand Mobile Connectivity in Rural India

New Delhi: Department of Posts (DoP) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi to expand BSNL’s mobile connectivity across the country.

The partnership aims to make BSNL’s telecom services more accessible and affordable, especially for citizens in remote and underserved areas.

As per the MOU, India Post will use its vast postal network of over 1.65 lakh post offices to facilitate the sale of BSNL SIM cards and related telecom services.

By integrating BSNL’s telecom reach with India Post’s vast delivery network, the initiative will serve as a powerful last-mile channel for mobile connectivity, enhancing digital access for millions of rural households.

Officials stated that this collaboration will play an important role in promoting the Digital India vision by promoting financial inclusion, supporting e-governance, and boosting socio-economic development across the nation.
