India Post: Asansol Division’s DCDP Camp at Domohani Bajar SO Sets New Milestone with 163 Accounts Opened in a single day

Asansol: A DCDP (Dak Community Development Programme) camp held today at Domohani Bajar Sub Post Office, Barabani CD block under Asansol 2nd Sub Division, witnessed overwhelming success, marking a strong step toward growing citizens’ outreach by the Department of Posts.

The camp was attended by Shri Debraj Sethi, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices (SSPOs), Asansol Division, whose interaction with the public received wide appreciation from locals.

The event was coordinated under the supervision of Shri Samrat Sengupta, SDH/Inspector of Posts, Asansol 2nd Sub Division, who acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the staff and the encouraging support from the community.

During the camp, the SSPOs, Asansol, showed special focus on the importance of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSA) and Public Provident Fund (PPF) accounts.

Local public, present in the camp, were guided in detail about the long-term financial benefits and secure returns offered through these schemes by the Central Government. Department of Posts’ initiative to bring essential postal and financial services closer to the public was welcomed with enthusiasm.

The DCDP camp recorded impressive achievements, with a total of 163 Postal Small Savings Scheme accounts opened in a single day, including 23 SSA accounts.

In addition to that, 11 PLI/RPLI policies were collected, reflecting increasing trust in postal insurance services. The insurance collections included a sum assured of ₹33,50,000 with a total premium of ₹13,545.

Officials from the Department of Posts, Asansol Postal Division, expressed satisfaction with the positive public response from the local public, and noted that such camps are crucial in increasing financial inclusion and increasing awareness of postal services in rural areas of India.
