India Post Internship: India Post Launches India Post Experiential Learning Program to Engage Youth Over 2 Lakh Post Offices in India
New Delhi: Department of Posts has launched a nationwide internship initiative to engage youth via hands-on learning experiences within its massive postal network of over 2 lakh post offices in India.
This initiative is being conducted via the MYBharat Portal. This India Post Experiential Learning Program is designed to let school students know about India Post operations. The internship duration is 30 to 45 days.
India Post Experiential Learning Program
India Post Experiential Learning Program allows school students to gain real-life experience in sectors like financial, e-commerce logistics, supply chain management, and space design. Department of Posts intends to give the experience of how a government organization functions on a daily basis with innovation & public service.
Eligibility & Selection Process
India Post Experiential Learning Program has an eligibility criteria for selection. Applicants need to be an Indian citizen and the minimum age should be 18 years or above. Eligibility: Minimum qualification – High School Pass. Candidates will be shortlisted after submitting their applications on the MyBharat portal and screening process.

Department of Posts has the full right to remove any candidate if found in violating the code of conduct.
Work Roles for Interns at India Post
Selected interns will be required to follow the code of conduct and participate in daily activities at the assigned Post Office. Participants will gain hands-on exposure to the functioning of the Indian Post through a structured 15-day engagement by the Department of Posts.
Responsibilities of Interns
- Basic orientation on core post office operations, services, and customer protocols
- Assisting with daily operations like parcel sorting and delivery, counter support, and document handling
- Learning Financial inclusion schemes
- Promotion and awareness of key postal schemes such as savings accounts, insurance, and philately
- Participation in localized campaigns such as “Dak Chaupal” (TBD), aimed at spreading awareness in rural communities
- Supporting data collection and grassroots insights for service improvement
Certification by India Post
After the internship period, candidates will be awarded with an experience certificate. Upon satisfactory completion with at least 75% attendance, participants will receive a certificate through the MYBharat Portal.
