July DA Hike 2025: Modi Govt set to Announce DA/DR Hike for Central Govt Employees, Know how much salary will increase, pension, CPI-IW

New Delhi: Good news for all central government employees and pensioners! Modi government will soon announce the July DA-DR Hike 2025. As per the media reports, this will be the final DA hike announcement under the 7th Pay commission, as the 8th Pay commission will be implemented in January 2026.

How much DA will increase in the July 2025 announcement?

Media Sources suggest that the July DA hike will be between 2% and 3%, similar to previous DA DR hikes. The DA hike is necessary for government employees as it helps to adjust their salaries against inflation and ensures their salaries align with the increased cost of living.

The next DA DR hike announcement in July 2025 will be based on the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW), which is a key metric used to measure inflation in the country.

In March 2025, CPI-IW rose slightly by 0.2 points, for which a 2% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners was announced. With current inflation standing at 2.95%, experts predict that central employees could see a 2% to 3% DA hike, which could be very good news for over 1.2 crore government employees and pensioners.

Central Government announces DA hikes twice a year, once for January-June and the second time for the July-December period. The last time DA and DR were increased by 2%, bringing the total to 55% of the basic pay. Many government employees are now eagerly awaiting the upcoming announcement.
