Ministry of Education encourages schools to adopt UPI for Fee Payments under Digital Transformation reforms
New Delhi: Ministry of Education has encouraged schools across the country to adopt Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for fee collection and other financial transactions.
In an official communication to all States, Union Territories (UTs), and educational bodies such as NCERT, CBSE, KVS, and NVS, the Department of School Education and Literacy encourages institutions to transition from cash-based systems to secure and transparent digital payment modes.

This will allow parents and students to pay admission, examination, and other school-related fees through digital platforms like UPI, mobile wallets, and net banking.
Officials noted that this initiative aligns with the Government’s Digital India vision.
