Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) Launches Largest Tribal Empowerment Campaign – DhartiAaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, Doorstep camps to promote Government services
Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Government of India has launched the DhartiAaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, the largest campaign to date for tribal welfare and empowerment in India. The campaign began its rollout on June 15 and will continue until June 30, which will cover over 1 lakh tribal villages and habitations across 549 tribal districts and 207 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) districts.
Union Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Jual Oram stated that the campaign is a historic step towards achieving the Prime Minister’s vision of Antyodaya, which focuses on the development of the most marginalized sections of society. He said the initiative aims not only to deliver welfare schemes but also to restore dignity, self-respect, and participatory governance among tribal citizens.
In another message, Shri Durga DasUikey, Minister of State, Tribal Affairs, said that the sheer scale, planning, and community-led model of this campaign is unprecedented.
As part of the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, the campaign aims to celebrate the contributions of India’s tribal communities and ensure that they receive several government schemes and services at their doorsteps. The campaign promotes government initiatives such as PM-JANMAN and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, promoting last-mile delivery through Janbhagidari, or people’s participation.
Camps for Tribal Communities
Multiple welfare camps are being organized directly at the village and habitation level of tribal communities. These camps are providing important government services such as Aadhaar enrolment and updates, Ayushman Bharat Health Cards, Jan Dhan bank accounts, PM-Kisan registrations, pension scheme enrolments, scholarships, insurance coverage, skill training, and livelihood programs. Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) aims with this participatory, camp-based delivery model to ensure that no eligible tribal household is left behind.
