Now traffic violations will be fined instantly! NHAI Launches Instant Challan System on Delhi-Gurugram and Dwarka Expressway!
Gurugram: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced a new technology-based traffic surveillance system on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway (NH-48) and the Dwarka Expressway. This new system will report traffic violations with an instant challan issued to the vehicle owner. A total of 190 high resolution cameras have been installed on NH-48 and Dwarka Expressway of Gurugram, which will monitor vehicles for 24/7 for traffic rules violations.
Now instant challan for over speeding
Delhi-Gurugram Expressway and Dwarka Expressway will now operate under constant surveillance. These AI-powered cameras will instantly detect possible overspeeding traffic violations and will automatically generate challans and send them directly to the offenders. NHAI takes this new initiative to reduce road accidents and enforce traffic rules on highways for safety.

17 Crore Rupees Investment for this project
NHAI has installed three types of cameras along a 56-km stretch covering Shiv Murti in Rajouri, Delhi, to Kherki Daula on NH-48, and Kherki Daula to Shiv Murti via Dwarka Expressway. Approximately 190 cameras have been installed in about 56 km area. The new camera based traffic monitoring system includes 110 PTZ cameras for all-angle surveillance, 15 360-degree cameras covering both highways and 65 speed monitoring cameras with AI technology.
NHAI has spent almost 17 crore rupees on this project which was completed in nine months. These cameras have been installed at 15 points. Out of these, cameras have been installed at nine points on Dwarka Expressway and six points on NH-48.
Strict Monitoring of Traffic Rules
The traffic control room will monitor for multiple traffic violations like over-speeding, wrong-side driving, Passenger safety violations, banned vehicles on highways, reckless driving, Lane discipline, Toll collection and other types of traffic rule violations. AI powered cameras will automatically issue challan (fine for violating traffic rules) based on the violation in the name of the vehicle owner.
Authorities believe this strict monitoring and automated challan system will help to reduce road accidents at known black spots like Shankar Chowk, IFFCO Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Manesar, Pachgaon, and Kherki Daula.
Night Vision Cameras to Catch Rule Breakers Anytime
NHAI has also installed multiple night vision cameras. These cameras will operate 24/7 to ensure no one escapes during nighttime. Special light panels have been installed to monitor during low visibility conditions.
Drive Safely or Pay the challan!
NHAI sets speed limits at 60 km/h for heavy vehicles, 80 km/h for smaller vehicles, and 100 km/h for other types of vehicles on the expressway. Reckless drivers must think twice before violating traffic rules.
