Railway Board News: Indian Railways Launches New HRMS Module for Promotion Suitability from July 1
Ministry of Railways has launched the “Assessment of Suitability” sub-module under the Human Resource Management System (HRMS), effective from July 1, 2025. The new digital system is developed and tested by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). This aims to digitize and streamline non-selection promotions across Indian Railways.
What is the Railway Board order?
According to Railway Board Order No. PC-VII/2025/HRMS/25 dated June 30, 2025, this sub-module forms part of the Cadre Management Module under the Unified Digital Interface for Promotions (UDIP) initiative. It has undergone training rollout across all railway zones and production units as communicated earlier in the Board’s letter on June 24, 2025.
It has now been decided by the competent authority that the Suitability sub-module of UDIP, the promotion module of HRMS be launched w.e.f. 1st July, 2025. All processing related to suitability for non-selection promotions must be conducted only through this HRMS sub-module. No physical or manual processing shall be done across Indian Railways from 01/07/2025. Detailed User Manual of the sub-module shall be made available on HRMS portal.
