UDGAM Portal: RBI’s One-Stop Platform to Track and Reclaim Unclaimed Bank Deposits
New Delhi: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has developed the UDGAM (Unclaimed Deposits – Gateway to Access Information) portal, a centralized online platform that allows users to search for unclaimed bank deposits across multiple banks in one place.
The initiative aims to make it easier for individuals and organizations to identify dormant or forgotten accounts and initiate the process of claiming their rightful funds.

UDGAM portal is an RBI-backed platform designed to simplify access to details of unclaimed deposits and inoperative accounts that have been transferred to the Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund maintained by the Reserve Bank.
The portal enables registered users to search for unclaimed amounts across participating banks by entering basic details such as name, date of birth, or ID information.

What Is the UDRN (Unclaimed Deposit Reference Number)?
Each unclaimed deposit transferred to the DEA Fund is tagged with a Unique Unclaimed Deposit Reference Number (UDRN) generated by the bank’s Core Banking System (CBS).
This number ensures data privacy by hiding identifiable account details while allowing banks to seamlessly verify and process claims when initiated by the rightful depositor.
Why UDGAM Matters
With over ₹75,000 crore of unclaimed funds lying in dormant accounts across India’s banking system, UDGAM is a major step toward ensuring transparency, accessibility, and financial empowerment.
