Kerala Onam 2026: Central Government Employees and Pensioners to Get August Salary, Wages and Pension on August 24

New Delhi: Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Ministry of Finance, has issued an Office Memorandum announcing the advance disbursement of salary, wages and pension for Central Government employees and pensioners in Kerala on the occasion of the Onam festival.

According to the order dated 3 August 2026, the salary, wages and pension for the month of August 2026 will be paid on 24 August 2026 (Monday).

Advance Salary for Central Government Employees

The Government has decided that all Central Government employees working in the State of Kerala will receive their August 2026 salary on 24 August 2026.

The advance payment will apply to employees serving in all Central Government offices, including:

• Defence
• Department of Posts
• Telecommunications
• Other Central Government Ministries and Departments

Advance Wages for Industrial Employees

The Office Memorandum also states that industrial employees of the Central Government serving in Kerala will receive their August 2026 wages in advance on 24 August 2026.

Pension to Be Credited on August 24

The Government has further directed that the August 2026 pension of all Central Government pensioners residing in Kerala should also be disbursed on 24 August 2026.

Banks and Pay & Accounts Offices (PAOs) have been instructed to ensure timely payment.

Payment Treated as Advance

The CGA clarified that the salary, wages and pension paid on 24 August 2026 will be treated as advance payments.

After the complete salary, wages or pension for August 2026 is calculated, any necessary adjustment will be made in accordance with the applicable rules during settlement for the month.

Instructions Issued to Departments and Banks

Ministry of Finance has requested all concerned Ministries and Departments to immediately inform their offices located in Kerala so that advance payments can be processed without delay.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has also been requested to advise all bank branches in Kerala to make the necessary arrangements for the advance pension disbursement.

The decision has been taken to help Central Government employees and pensioners in Kerala celebrate Onam, the state’s biggest festival, by ensuring they receive their salary, wages and pension before the festivities begin.
