Weather Update: IMD Warns of Heavy Rain and Hailstorms Across Northwest and Northeast India, Heavy rain expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi NCR tomorrow
New Delhi: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert predicting heavy rainfall across several parts of Northwest and Northeast India over the next 24 hours. The forecast includes the likelihood of hailstorms and thunderstorms under the influence of an active western disturbance.
According to the IMD, isolated heavy to very heavy rain is expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi NCR tomorrow. The weather system is likely to bring intense spells of rain, accompanied by hailstorms in parts of Northwest India through tomorrow.

IMD also warned of heavy rainfall over regions including Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and parts of the Northeast. Additionally, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are likely to affect Bihar, Chhattisgarh, East Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra over the next two to three days.
Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to stay alert and take necessary precautions, particularly in regions prone to waterlogging or landslides. Farmers have also been cautioned to safeguard standing crops and livestock from potential damage due to hailstorms and strong winds.
