New Delhi: Diwali Bonus 2025 for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) and Postal Employees is now in its final stage of approval with the Department of Expenditure (DoE),
As per the latest update, the Department of Posts and the Ministry of Communications have completed all procedural formalities, and the proposal has been sent to the Department of Expenditure (DoE), Ministry of Finance, for final clearance.

According to official sources, the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) proposal has already been vetted and cleared by both the Budget Division and the Cost Section. The file has now been forwarded to the Hon’ble Minister of Communications for final approval before the order is formally issued.
If all goes as expected, the official Diwali Bonus order is likely to be released within the next 1–2 days, ensuring timely disbursement before the festive season.
GDS and Postal Employees Diwali Bonus 2025
- A bonus equivalent to 60 days’ wages is expected, similar to previous years.
- The amount will be credited directly to employees’ bank accounts, where they get their monthly salary once the order is issued.
- The announcement is likely to come before or during the Diwali week.
Reason Behind the Delay
The delay in issuing this year’s order reportedly stemmed from file movement and procedural review between departments. With all administrative sections having given their clearance, the final approval from the Department of Expenditure is now awaited.
Postal circles across the country are closely monitoring updates, with many employee unions expressing positive remarks that the GDS & Postal Employees’ bonus will be released in time for Diwali.
