PM Modi Extends Greetings on Dhanteras, Prays for Happiness and Prosperity of All Indians

New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Saturday extended warm greetings to citizens on the joyful occasion of Dhanteras, marking the beginning of the Diwali festival.

In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister said, “देश के मेरे सभी परिवारजनों को धनतेरस की अनेकानेक शुभकामनाएं। इस पावन अवसर पर मैं हर किसी के सुख, सौभाग्य और आरोग्य की कामना करता हूं। भगवान धन्वंतरि सबको अपना भरपूर आशीर्वाद दें।“

Dhanatrayodashi, popularly known as Dhanteras, signifies the first day of the five-day Diwali celebrations. The festival is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Dhanvantari, the divine physician.

Devotees light diyas (earthen lamps), sing bhajans, and offer traditional sweets as part of evening Lakshmi Puja rituals.

Union Ministers and Chief Ministers also shared their greetings on the occasion of Dhanteras.

Diwali festival, celebrated across India, symbolizes wealth, wellness, and divine blessings.
