Re-Categorization of Official Language Cadre: DoP Clarifies STO Now an All India Cadre
New Delhi: Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, has issued a clarification regarding the re-categorization of the Official Language Cadre, superseding its earlier Office Memorandum dated 24th August 2022.
According to the latest order (No. Y-17/1/2022-PE-II) issued from Dak Bhawan, New Delhi, the Department of Personnel & Training (DoP&T) has approved the proposal to re-categorize the Senior Translation Officer (STO) Grade of the Official Language Cadre from Circle Cadre to All India Cadre.
Key Clarifications:
- Senior Translation Officer (STO):
The STO Grade has now been formally re-categorized as an All India Cadre. - Junior Translation Officer (JTO):
The JTO Grade will continue to function as a Circle Cadre, with no change in its categorization. - Assistant Director (Official Language) [AD(OL)] and Deputy Director (Official Language) [DD(OL)]:
Both these posts will remain as All India Cadre, as per the existing structure.
The order has been issued with the approval of the Competent Authority and signed by Ms. Sapna, Assistant Director General (Estt).
