8th Pay Commission: NC-JCM Staff Side Calls Key Meeting on November 15 to Finalize Discussion Strategy

The National Council (Staff Side) of the Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM) has scheduled a crucial meeting on November 15, 2025, to discuss matters related to the recently constituted 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC).

In a formal communiqué issued by Shiva Gopal Mishra, Secretary of the NC-JCM (Staff Side), all Standing Committee members have been invited to attend the meeting at 11:00 a.m. at the Staff Side Secretariat located at 13-C, Ferozshah Road, New Delhi.

The meeting agenda will focus on assessing the implications of the government’s decision to set up the 8th Pay Commission and formulating a coordinated response and strategy on behalf of central government employees.

The meeting comes shortly after the Government of India’s Gazette Notification dated November 3, 2025, which officially announced the formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission. The Commission will be responsible for reviewing and recommending revisions to the pay, allowances, and pension structures for central government employees and pensioners.

This gathering marks the first organized consultation among staff representatives since the government’s announcement, and is expected to outline the NC-JCM’s initial stand and action plan in upcoming deliberations with official committees.

The Staff Side, which represents central government employees across various departments and sectors, is expected to push for timely implementation, fair pay rationalization, and pension reforms aligned with inflation and living cost trends.

Shiva Gopal Mishra, in his notice, emphasized the importance of full participation from Standing Committee members to ensure a unified and well-prepared approach as discussions on the 8th Pay Commission gain momentum.
