India Post inaugurates Gen Z–Focused Post Office at Delhi University, Its Second Revamped Campus Facility

India Post on Thursday opened the newly revamped Delhi University Post Office, marking the second campus Post Office in the country to be redesigned under its nationwide youth-focused modernization drive.

The initiative, launched as part of the government’s vision to build stronger connections with Generation Z, aims to transform traditional Post Offices into vibrant, student-friendly, tech-enabled hubs.

The redesign of the Delhi University Post Office reflects extensive student participation. Young artists from the Miranda House Adversity Fine Arts Society contributed to the graffiti, interior design elements, and promotional artwork, giving the facility a fresh, youth-centric identity.

The upgraded Post Office now offers Free Wi-Fi, dedicated student service counters, parcel packing services, and Discounted Speed Post rates for documents, making postal services more accessible to the campus community.

This transformation is part of a broader plan to upgrade 46 Post Offices located in educational institutions across India by January 2026. The initiative is being carried out under the guidance of Union Minister of Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, who envisions Post Offices as modern “community touchpoints” for young citizens.

During the inauguration, senior officials from the Department of Posts acknowledged the support of Delhi University’s administration. Appreciation was extended to the Registrar, Dean (Administration), Principal of Miranda House, and university leadership for collaborating closely to bring this student-oriented project to life.

The revamped Delhi University Post Office follows the recent modernization of the IIT Hauz Khas Post Office in Delhi, signalling India Post’s expanding commitment to upgrade postal spaces across campuses and fostering deeper engagement with India’s youth.
