Bank Holidays in December 2025: Check full state-wise bank holidays list before planning your next bank branch visit
Bank customers should take note of the upcoming holiday schedule for December 2025, as several banking services across India will remain unavailable on specific days.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued the complete list of bank holidays for the month of December 2025, covering national observances, regional festivals, and important state holidays.
Since public and private sector banks do not follow a uniform holiday calendar nationwide, the dates of closure vary from state to state.

Major holidays during the month include Christmas, Goa Liberation Day, Indigenous Faith Day, and New Year-related celebrations. Customers are advised to check the state-specific list to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
The month begins with bank closures in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland on December 1 for State Inauguration Day and Indigenous Faith Day.
Goa will observe a holiday on December 3 for the Feast of St. Francis Xavier.
Meghalaya will see two holidays — on December 12 for the death anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma, and on December 18 for the death anniversary of U SoSo Tham.
Goa Liberation Day on December 19 will be observed as a bank holiday in Goa, while Sikkim will celebrate the Losoong and Namsoong festivals on December 20 and December 22.
Christmas-related holidays are spread across multiple days in different states. On December 24, banks will be shut in Mizoram, Nagaland, and Meghalaya for Christmas Eve.
Christmas Day on December 25 is a nationwide bank holiday across India.
In some northeastern states, the celebrations continue, leading to closures on December 26 in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya, and again on December 27 in Nagaland.
Meghalaya has another regional observance on December 30 to mark the death anniversary of U Kiang Nangbah.
The final bank holiday of the year falls on December 31 in Mizoram and Manipur for New Year’s Eve and the Imoinu Iratpa festival.
