India Post Launches Speed Post 24 & Speed Post 48 for Faster Nationwide Delivery
India Post has launched two new premium delivery services — Speed Post 24 and Speed Post 48 — aimed at ensuring time-bound delivery within 24 hours and 48 hours respectively.
Union Minister made the announcement for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia during a programme held at Pichhor in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Speed Post 24 and Speed Post 48 will establish a new benchmark for punctuality, reliability and speed in India’s postal ecosystem. These services are part of India Post’s broader transformation to compete with private courier and logistics players while leveraging its unmatched nationwide reach.
Infrastructure boost at Pichhor
As part of the visit, Mr. Scindia:
- Inaugurated the renovated Pichhor Sub-Post Office, developed at a cost of ₹2 lakh
- Laid the foundation stone for a new sub-post office building, with an estimated cost of ₹1.11 crore
He said that modern infrastructure, combined with technology-driven services, will strengthen India Post’s role as a trusted public service delivery institution.
Push for modernisation & indigenous capability
The Minister also highlighted that on 29 December 2025, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), through the National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS), rolled out transformative reforms to strengthen indigenous manufacturing and testing capabilities in the communications sector. These measures are aimed at enhancing security, self-reliance and global competitiveness.
